The piece is hand carved by Junior Cobb out of Black Walnut and sits at 20" tall by 9" wide approx. Junior was a world renowned woodcarver. Some of his works are in the Smithsonian. His carvings are collected all over the world. One of his carvings is in the are collection of the White House in Washington, D.C. Junior can't read or write, but he learned to sign his name by copying it over and over. He didn't recognize individual letters of the alphabet, but he did recognize his name when the letters were grouped accordingly. Junior passed away December 12, 2011.
