Wood: White Walnut - Height: 13" Width: 20" Depth: 2" - Artist: Dean Troutman - Dean’s first woodcarving was at the clockworks for Pete Engler in Reeds Spring almost 30 years ago. He worked several summers first at the clockworks and later at Silver Dollar City. Dean also taught drafting 28 years for Wichita School system retiring in 1996. Dean is currently carving at Silver Dollar City part-time and working in his home studio. Dean creates artwork from wood, stone, clay, cold castings, and bronze. He enjoys created items related to the West, landscapes and animals, as well as decorative art pieces. He does bass relief and "in-the-round" items. Dean has created items for commercial projects such as the bronze and concrete casting signage for the Telephone Employees Credit Union at 21st and Ridge Road in Wichita. He has designed many decorative items for homes and offices.
