Three-day caricature carving class using knives and palm tools (no power carving). Beginning to advanced students can select from a variety of projects, all starting with a roughout. Roughout prices range from $32 to $45.

Randy Landen lives in Derby, Kansas, just south of Wichita. He began carving in 1990 at the Woodcarving Rendezvous in Branson. His carvings are heavily influenced by early instructors Ed Zinger, Dave Dunham, and Harold Enlow, as well as the unique and sometimes entertaining situations he encountered during his 33 years with the Wichita Police Department. Randy was elected to the CCA in 1994 and served as the President, Vice-President, and Secretary. He was involved in the development of the National Caricature Carving Competition and has contributed to the CCA’s numerous book projects. Randy has carvings in private collections around the US, as well as the CCA Signature Collection on display at Peter Engler Designs in Branson, MO. He has given caricature carving and painting seminars across the United States and served as judge at numerous woodcarving shows throughout the country.
